David Lightfoot
September 14, 1943 - September 2, 2019
Passed away suddenly at the McGill University Health Centre, Montreal. Dear son of the late David Lightfoot (2001) and Violet Lightfoot (2017).
Cherished husband and best friend of Aylene Marie Templeton for forty-four years and “big brother” to sister, Heather (Olivia). Brother-in-law to James Templeton (Martha) and the late Bill, of Red Deer, Alberta. Sadly missed by his cousins in families - Best, Dow, Drabble, Little, Oliphant, Pappas, Rich and Rogert.
Dave was simply a “very good man”, quiet, solid and hard working. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and worked in Montreal East (Union Carbide) then in Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Holland and Spain. These international projects allowed Dave and Aylene the time to fulfil their passion for learning and travel.
Visitation at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 1640 Blvd. Côte-Vertu, Saint-Laurent H4L 2A2, on Friday, September 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service, at the same location, on Saturday, September 14 at 10:30 am.
If friends and family wish, in lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory could be made to Cedars Cancer Foundation (514 - 656 - 6662).
Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard and always near.
Still loved, still missed,
Still very dear.
