<div itemprop="description">Ivan Louis De Rome <br /> <br /> <br />Ivan De Rome passed away quietly at age 80, surrounded by family, on January 22 after a short illness. Son of the late Louis No&euml;l and the late Ida Vandry, he leaves behind to mourn his children Andrea (John Spiegel), Heather, Suzanne (Greg Parsons) , Joe (Bea Perryon) and Philippe, along with grandchildren David, Tim, Ben, Julia, Rowan, Michael, Caroline, Andrew, Samantha, William, Alex, step-grandchildren Bianca and Michael, great-grand-son James and many nieces, nephews and friends&hellip;. he is survived by his sisters Rita and Lucille and his dear partner Carol Leonard. <br /> <br />As a civil Engineer with a love of all things aquatic, his career saw him work on the Louis H. Lafontaine Tunnel with Marine Industries, followed by the Montreal Ice Control Bridge, the pier and ferry terminals at Levis, many years with the James Bay Hydro project, and finally back home to the old port of Montreal during his 20 years with Lalonde,Valois &amp; Ass. / Lavalin. He enjoyed his retirement years at Lac Vert, QC and then in Kingston ON, where he never wandered too far from the water. <br /> <br />The family wishes to thank the devoted attention offered by the Presqu'&icirc;le CLSC home palliative care team of Dr. Chantal Anctil and nurse Jennifer Perron. Ivan will be remembered at a service to be held Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 1640 Boulevard de la C&ocirc;te-Vertu, Saint-Laurent, QC H4L 2A2. His family will receive condolences as of 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to The University Hospitals of Kingston Foundation (613) 549-5452, www.uhkf.ca, would be appreciated. <br /> <br /></div>
