It is with profound regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Rose at the age of 99. She left us peacefully June 14th at Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montreal. She now joins her pre-deceased husband of 59 years, Arthur (Art) Mustill. Dorothy is survived by brother James (Newcastle NB) daughter Carol, sons Gordon and Donald (Kim), grandchildren Darcy & Lisa, pre-deceased grand-daughter Lindsay, great-grandchildren Brendon, Denzell, Keyona and Chloe. Daughter of Arthur Sylvester Quinn and Edith Julia Longpre, Dorothy is pre-deceased by sisters Florence, Margaret and Eleanor Anne and by brothers Frank, Arthur, Gerald and Lawrence. Though she loved and was loved by so many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, a special heartfelt thanks is extended to Sandra and Daniel Quinn who on many occasions provided support to Dorothy and were always there when needed.

Dorothy had a sharp and willing mind to the very end but a heart that found so much room for family and friends finally failed. She was grateful for her life of almost a full century and knowing the end was near, looked forward to being welcomed into the arms of the Lord. As many women of her time, Dorothy was a dedicated housewife and mother – the quiet master of the house. She had incredible knitting, crocheting and needlepoint skills, often knitting articles from patterns in her head. After losing her husband to a long battle with Alzheimer’s, Dorothy’s intelligent independence allowed her to thrive among her friends and neighbours. She leaves behind a grieving family who will miss her terribly. May she find peace among the Angels.

Dorothy is laid to rest at Armstrong-Rideau Funeral Home, 1640 Blvd. Cote-Vertu Ouest, Saint-Laurent, Quebec. A celebration of Life will be held at the visitation times listed below. In lieu of flowers, we would welcome a donation in her name to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation.

If you would like to express your sympathy, we invite you to visit our digital guestbook.
