It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Oy Hon Chan, on May 21st, 2021, in Montreal.
He joins his eternal resting place with the mother of his children, his late beloved wife Mee Shang Chan.

Immigrating to Canada from China in 1958 with but “5 dollars in his pocket”, he set out to build a new life and start a family with his wife in his newly adopted country. Many years of hard work in providing for his parents, wife and four children allowed them to prosper and thrive. He was very proud of his eight grandchildren, some of whom he helped care for in his retirement years.

He found much enjoyment watching wrestling on TV and fishing with his cousin, Frank Yee Tong Chin. He was very close to Frank and his family. During his retirement years, he enjoyed cooking, traveling, cruising, walking around his neighborhood and listening to his friends at the local mall.

He leaves behind his caring spouse Li Qing Zhao, his loving children Bernard (Anna), Beryl, Basil (Kathleen), Barnaby (Krista), his grandchildren Justin, Stephanie, Emma, Amanda, Olivia, Nicholas, Evelyn, and Violet.
